
An avid music fan and a frenzied experimenter since her early years, Long Island, New York's Madison Elle Beer started posting videos of herself singing covers of some well-known tracks as a 13-year-old in 2012. Justin Bieber, a pop idol, found her rendition of Etta's "At Last" within a couple of months, and shared the song with his more than 25 million fans on Twitter. The coverage led to her signing a contract with a record label at Island Records, and then a management agreement with Bieber's manager. The same year, Beer was also cast as a minor character in the film of independent filmmakers Louder Than Words, which featured David Duchovny and made its film festival premiere late in 2013.
