Claire Elise Boucher,/bu:'SeI/boo-SHAY,[1] was born March 17, 1988. The name she is given is Grimes. The early work of her has been described as extending into "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop,[4] and has incorporated influence from electronic music, hip hop, and rock. She frequently incorporates science fiction and feminist themes in her songs. Five albums have come out. The singer was born and raised in Vancouver (later making the move into Montreal), Grimes began independently releasing music at the end of the 2000s and released two albums, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa from 2010 through Arbutus Records. Following her the signing of 4AD her popularity grew with fame by releasing Visions which is her third album of studio work. Visions includes the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". Also, it was the recipient of the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. Art Angels, her fourth studio record, was released in the year 2015. Several publications called it one of the greatest albums. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album in the studio. Beyond the music industry, Grimes had a voice character in the 2020 online action-role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the competition for musicians game program Alter Ego.
